On Thursday 1st May at 7-30 there is an open evening at St John Ambulance. Come and find out what we do. Our hall is close to the vicarage Street car park. You can look around the ambulance and visit our museum. Adults and Cadets will be demonstrating fist aid and related skills. You can have a chat to find out out how we can help with first aid duties, training and medical loans. Light refreshments too! All interested people welcome.

I am an enthusiastic supporter of the efforts of the last 30 years of the rail companies and NNDC in their battle to maintain the NN rail link and I continue to use the Bittern Line regularly.

I was surprised to read in the minutes of the Griffon Partnership criticism of the rolling stock of which the class 170 almost brand new constitutes a part of the fleet used. The balance is made up of Sprinter Class 153 approximately 30 years old but regularly refurbished and regarded as one of the most efficient and successful class ever used in the UK and in my opinion perfectly adequate.
The success of the line has resulted in considerable investment in new modern signalling and track almost complete, which when allied with the excellent rolling stock provides a ride of such smoothness to rival any modern conventional railway any where in the world.

The Terminus at Norwich Thorpe has been brought back to its former Victorian glory but with a clean modern ambience making a very easy and pleasant access to the centre of Norwich via the excellent bus and taxi links and all within a riverside development of which Norwich and Norfolk citizens can be proud.

The reference to cleanliness is another matter and it all depends on what you consider is a reasonable frequency for cleaning stock which throughout the working day I would estimate is utilised 90% of the time. There are adequate receptacles on board for rubbish disposal; maybe they could be better identified and therefore used.

One must hope that the cleaner and better the service gets the better will be the respect it gets from it’s customers and in this vein one must hope that the access, parking and surrounding facilities currently on display at North Walsham are addressed and very urgently brought up to the same standard as the Rolling Stock, Track and Norwich Facility.

Yours sincerely,

David Spinks.

Looking to move to North Walsham, Aylsham or north Norwich suburbs. What is special about NW that might persuade us there? I am married with two young children.
